Features
Everything that's in Oustwit at launch. If you're trying to figure out whether the game does the thing you want, this page should answer it.
Online play
- Worldwide lobby. Open the lobby and see every other player who's in it right now, with their country flag, username, and games played.
- Lobby filters. Narrow the list by country, by experience level (minimum or maximum games played), or to "previous opponents only" to find a rematch with someone you've played before.
- Direct challenges. Tap a player to challenge them. They get a notification with your stats and accept or decline.
- Color choice. When a challenge is accepted, the challenger picks Red or Blue. Red moves first; Blue moves second.
- In-game chat. Send your opponent a set of preset quick messages during the match — no free-text typing.
- Rematch in one tap. When a match ends, either player can request a rematch. Accept and the next game starts immediately.
Solo play
- Three AI difficulties — Easy, Medium, Hard. Easy plays solid but forgiving moves; Hard runs a deeper search and plays sharp.
- Fully offline. No connection required — your starter credits work without an account.
Profile
- Username and country flag — shown to other players in the lobby and during matches.
- Stats that follow you across devices. Sign in on a new phone and your profile is right there.
- Per-opponent records. See exactly how you've done against every player you've ever faced — games together, wins, losses, last played date.
- Game-history sorting. Sort your opponent history by date last played, by games played, or by games won.
Replays
- Every online match is saved server-side. Replays don't take up space on your device.
- Move-by-move scrubbing. Step through any past game one move at a time.
- Win-reason captured. See whether you won by three-in-a-row, by filling the board, or by an opponent forfeit.
- Match metadata. Each replay shows opponent name, country, score, total moves, and game duration.
Authentication
- Sign in with Google. One tap on Android.
- Sign in with Apple. One tap on iOS.
- Email-code sign-in. Type your email, get a one-time code, paste it back. No password to remember or reset.
- Cross-platform accounts. The same account works on Android and iOS.
Connectivity
- Server failover. If our primary server hiccups, the client automatically connects to a backup. When the primary is healthy again, you're moved back. You usually won't notice.
- Mid-match reconnection. If your phone drops Wi-Fi during a match, the game pauses, retries the connection with exponential backoff, and resumes exactly where you were when it gets back online.
- Pending-game restore. If the app is killed mid-match, opening it again drops you back into the same game.
Audio and feel
- Mutable. An audio control in the main menu lets you turn sound off entirely or set it to a low volume.
- Smooth piece animations. Placement, push, slide, fade — all tuned for clarity, not flashiness.
Play credits
- Ten free credits on install. Start playing offline games against the computer right away — no account needed.
- Ten more free credits when you sign in. Once your starter credits run low, sign in to get more and to unlock online play.
- One credit per game. Online matches and computer games each cost one credit — and it's returned to you if you win. A match you forfeit early still costs the credit.
- Three optional credit packs. Buy more whenever you want — small (10), medium (40), or large (100). Credits never expire and have no monetary value.
Design and accessibility
- Portrait-only. Designed for one-handed play.
- Resolution-aware. Layout adapts to phone or tablet screens.
- Light, calm visuals. Tuned for long sessions, not for grabbing attention with bright UI.
- Distinct piece silhouettes. Red and Blue pieces have visually distinct outlines and shading, not just color.
Platforms at launch
- Android — Google Play, devices running Android 5.0 (API 21) or higher.
- iOS — Apple App Store, iPhones running iOS 13 or higher.
